Dr. Shumank Deep is an Associate Professor (Operations) at IMS Ghaziabad, specializing in project management, business analytics, Lean Six Sigma, and operations strategy. With over nine years of academic experience, he has taught and developed courses in operations and supply chain management, Industry 4.0, and business process re-engineering.
Dr. Deep holds a Ph.D. from the University of Newcastle, Australia, where his research focused on power and dependency in contractor-subcontractor relationships in construction projects. He has published extensively, with two ABDC A and three ABDC A research papers*, and has received over 500 citations across Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science.
Prior to joining IMS Ghaziabad, Dr. Deep was an Institute Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, where he worked on developing virtual labs for construction education and taught Building Information Modelling (BIM), Primavera, and MS Project. He collaborated with the Construction Management Research Group, focusing on improving contractor-subcontractor collaboration, procurement strategies, and risk management.
He has extensive experience in teaching and training on MS Project, Primavera, and Power BI, and has conducted workshops on data storytelling using Power BI. At IMS Ghaziabad, he has played a key role in developing multidisciplinary electives that integrate operations management with technology.
Dr. Deep is a recipient of the Australia Awards Fellowship (2025-26) and has been involved in research projects on net-zero construction, climate risk in construction, and AI-driven project management. He is also an active reviewer for leading academic journals, contributing to advancements in construction management, operations, and analytics.
