Brief Profile:

Dr Ajay Pandit is a renowned Professor in Marketing and has worked for prestigious institutions like FMS - University of Delhi, Hainan University, Haikou, China & Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. He has worked in the industry where his role was planning and execution of new projects from conception to implementation before making his move into academics. He has been a visiting faculty at the Kathmandu and the Pokhara Universities of Nepal. He has been the Marketing Unit Chair and Principal Educational Consultant for Deakin University of Australia for their Distance Education Program in India. He has been a Member of several expert committees of the UGC and AIU.
He has been awarded the, 2004 Higher Education and Development Award, by International Association of Educators for world peace (UN affiliated NGO having special status with ECOSOC, UNDPI, UNESCO, UNICEF). He has published 8 books & 21 research papers in reputed International Journals. He has also presented & published a number of case studies at prestigious National and International forums. He has delivered special lectures / talk at Indian Red Cross Society, GAIL, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hainan Provincial Government, Haikou, Hainan, China, Postal Staff College India, APTECH World Summit, Dealer’s Conference of Siemens Limited and various other private and public sector firms in India. He has been a Member of various Academic and Advisory Committees of D.U, Indian Red Cross Society, ZenSar Centre for Business Innovation (a venture of RPG’s Zensar Technology Ltd.), Pune, and various committees constituted by the UGC in respect of evaluation of deemed universities.

Experience:

Former Professor, Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi.
From August 2005 to July 2006, was on one year assignment as Professor with the School of Economics and Management, Hainan University, Haikou, China.
From August 2002 to July 2005, was Professor and Dean, School of Management Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, India. [On deputation from Delhi University]
Prior to joining Indraprastha University in August 2002, was a Reader, MBA program coordinator and Advisor Corporate Relations and Placements with the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. Areas of specialization are Marketing and Strategic management.
Have been a visiting faculty in the area of marketing at the Kathmandu and the Pokhara Universities of Nepal.

Was Member of the Study Team appointed by the Vth Central Pay Commission, Government of India in 1995 for the Restructuring of Postal Services.

Consulting:

Professional Consulting
1.Conducted a one-day workshop for the Minda Group of Companies for top-level executives on the topic ‘Organizational Values” on June 12, 2004 at Hotel Bristol, Gurgaon.
2.From 1996 to 2001, I have been the Marketing Unit Chair and Principal Educational Consultant for Deakin University of Australia for their Distance Education Program in India.
3.Was appointed Consultant by C-Dot, a Public Sector Telecom R&D firm to suggest a market driven pay package for their staff. [September 2000]
4.Was Member of the Study Team appointed by the Vth Central Pay Commission, Government of India in 1995 for the Restructuring of Postal Services. The Team submitted its report in January 1996. Most of its recommendations were accepted and implemented by the Government.
5.Was a Member of the Project Team constituted by the Faculty to conduct a marketing research study for the Indian Railways to determine the Perception of Travelling Public towards the Vigilance Department of Indian Railways.This study was conducted in the year 1987-88.
