 IMS Ghaziabad organized Samaagam – 2014, An Inter Departmental Academic Fest of PGDM Programme on February 26, 2014. Over 500 students took part, representing the whole PGDM batch. It was inaugurated by Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad at 10:00 AM at IMS Lal Quan Campus. Dr. Makkar congratulated and encouraged he students for the initiative and advised them to keep this spirit up. Various PGDM Departments such as Finance, Marketing, HR and Operations have conducted one event each. The sequence of the events conducted in the fest as follows:
The Department of Operations Management floated “Technopreneur”. The idea was based on the fact that innovative business ideas are very much in demand by the industry. The technology also plays a crucial role which cannot be ignored. “Technopreneur” provides a platform to our budding managers to share their ideas before a panel of judges drawn from different areas. More than 10 teams with a three member each, applied for the coveted screening round. Finally, 6 teams were shortlisted for their presentation. Teams were given total 10 minutes for presentation and Question & Answer session.
To make our students capable of working in a team in their professional careers by generating values like team spirit, co-operation and discipline the organizing team of HR department organized a team game, Kyuudan-14. This event made the students aware about values of collaboration and they realized that thinking, planning, decisions and actions are better when done cooperatively. 10 teams constituting of five members participated out of which 3 teams won. 
Finance Department came up with an event “Investment Master”. The game was a virtual stock market game in which virtual money was given to each team to trade and make money. It was the game of 6 rounds and the team which had maximum portfolio value won the game. The event witnessed huge participation and 15 teams qualified for final round. It was a great fun and learning to the students.
Vigyapan Chaupal – a scintillating Ad-Mad show was conducted by the Marketing Department. The students were given weird combinations of Brand and product categories like Itchguard Noodles, Frooti Toilet Cleaner, Cherry Blossom Toothpaste, Harpic Cold Drink and many more. The students were expected to prepare an advertisement for the given product. The task demanded a super creativity and innovation by the students. All participating students responded with flying performances. The show went on for more than an hour and was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. It was full of humour, creativity and talent.
At the end, the prizes were given to the winning teams of each event by the Director, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Program Chairperson Dr. Tapan Nayak, HOD-MCA Dr. Avadhesh Kumar Gupta and all Area chairpersons.
