Panel Discussion on Marketing Fundamentals
To enhance the domain knowledge on Marketing fundamentals, the Marketing Department of IMS Ghaziabad organized a panel discussion on the theme “OPPORTUNITIES, CHALLENGES & CHANGING TRENDS IN MARKETING” on September 19, 2015. The discussion was organized for the students of PGDM 2014-16 batch with Marketing Specialization and PGDM 2015-17 batch.
During the inaugural address, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, quoted the excerpts from the “Mann ki Baat” delivered by the Honorable PM, Mr. Narendra Modi. She deliberated on the paradigmatic shift going on in marketing from top to the Bottom of the Pyramid segment of our country.
Mr. Gourav Agarwal, Sr. Manager- Go to Market Strategy, Airtel Money, emphasized on the need of technology to cater to the poor segments of the society and gave examples that how RBI and other financial institutions have tied up to provide banking services to the unbanked sector of the society through e-wallets. Dr. Nidhi Saxena, National Manager-Auto Tie-Ups, Bharti AXA General Insurance gave her thoughts on the Digital India, that though digitization is on boom in India but still we have to go a long way as the markets and the consumers, both are changing rapidly. Mr. Amit Sharma, National Manager-Business Development & Partnerships, Bharti AXA General Insurance gave real life examples from the insurance sector that how it is a growing and promising sector for the upcoming business graduates who wish to pursue their career in marketing. Mr. Manish Kharor, Research Lead, Evalueserve, spoke about the global scenario and emerging trends in marketing at national as well as at global level.
The session was highly interactive and the students came up with their queries enthusiastically which were resolved by the panelists. The session ended up with the vote of thanks to all the panelists for enlightening the students with real insight of Marketing.
