On the occasion of commencement of 26thbatch of PGDM, IMS Ghaziabad organized one-week Induction Programme from July 14 -18, 2015.The programme revolved around the theme: Corporate expectations from Young Managers. The main objective of this programme is to sensitize the young budding managers with the pragmatic experiences of the corporate world and its expectations from them in the challenging and changing Global scenario.
Shri Rakesh Chharia, Managing Trustee-IMS Ghaziabad, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director- IMS Ghaziabad, welcomed the Guests of the day Dr. V P S Arora, President, CEGR, New Delhi; Dr. Manoj Sharma, Former Dean, DMS, IIT Delhi; Mr. Ajit Kumar Mishra, AGM, Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd. (Ministry of Railway, Govt of India) and other dignitaries present on the occasion of Second Day of One Week PGDM Induction Programme held at IMS Ghaziabad. Dr. Makkar in her address emphasized the importance of having focused goals in life for success.
The occasion witnessed diverse speakers and illustrious leaders from the varied arena of corporate and government sector. In the evening session, Mr. SubhashJagota, Director, Global Business Solutions, New Delhi as Chief Guest;Mr. Pramod Joshi, Director, The Winning Mantra, Noida;Mr. Vinay Gupta, Executive Director, GMA andMr. Sudhir Mohan Mittal, Managing Director, SukritiVidyut Udyog Pvt. Ltd. as speakers throw light on the brief role of budding managers in current scenario and what should be the roadmap to success. They also explained that the career is directly proportional to the number of opportunities multiplied by the efforts taken by an aspirant during such professional platform.More than 400 students including Faculty and Staff Members of the Institute attended the event. A dedicated interactive session has been conducted by Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director IMS Ghaziabad with the Parents of students to apprise them more about the Institute. Dr. Avadhesh Gupta and Dr. VidyaSekhri presented the vote of thanks to the speakers and delegates and concluded the day two of one week Induction Programme.
On July 16, 2015, The Third day of One-week PGDM Induction program of batch 2015-17 commenced with lighting ceremony by Shri Rakesh Chharia, Managing Trustee - IMS Ghaziabad, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director- IMS Ghaziabad and other stalwart from top global companies. Dr. Makkar during her address to the students on the theme of “Corporate Expectations from Young Managers” encouraged them to follow their own self and realize the importance of self-actualization.
The session witnessed Dr. B P Pethiya, Director, IMS UC; Mr. Kamalendu Bali, Director-Solutions, AP Solutions, Gurgaon; Mr. Lokesh Mehra, Director – Education Services, Symantec Corporation; Ms. Reena Singh, Director- Ananta Intellect Pvt. Ltd.; Dr. Gaurav Manik, Assistant Professor, IIT Roorkee; Mr. Sanjay Pandey, Asst. Registrar, IIT Delhi, Mr. M K Seth – Principal General Manager – BSNL and Mr. Asish Das, Director, AKD Infotech, Ghaziabad.
While interacting with the fresh batch Speakers focused on the insight of minute modifications in the lifestyle that make a huge difference in the professional life. They emphasized the importance of Cross-Cultural Management, and Effective Communication professionals. Budding Managers interacted with the speakers about their mantra for success and challenges faced by them during their career journey. More than 400 students including Faculty and Staff Members of the Institute attended the event. Dr. Anita Singh and Dr. Rinku Sanjeev presented the vote of thanks and concluded the third day of one-week Induction Programme with National Anthem.

Shri Rakesh Chharia inaugurated the book on “Innovation & Creativity Management: Design for Future” Chief Editor: Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Editors: Dr. Rinku Sanjeev and Dr. Sunayana Jain and dedicated the book towards efforts of IMS Ghaziabad in providing entrepreneurial education to its students. He encouraged the fresh batch to actively participate in Skill Development opportunities provided by the institute and actively contribute towards nation building and feel us proud. Dr. TapanNayak presented the vote of thanks to the dignitaries for their valuable contribution in the Induction Programme.
The Afternoon session was focused on theme “Health is Wealth” where the World renowned dignitaries from the field of Neurology, Naturopathy, Yoga Science and Mind- Power development shared the dais on Induction Programme. Guest of Honor Mr. Pramod Agarwal, Dr. D. N Sharma and Mr. Ramgopal Dixit from International Naturopathy Organization; Mr. B.K Chandrashekhar, President- SIGFA Solutions; Dr. Sanjeev Agarwal, RenownedAstrologer emphasized on the importance of Yoga, Mudragyan, Meditation and shared the secrets to keep mind, soul and body sound in this competitive environment. More than 400 students including Faculty and Staff Members of the Institute attended the event. Dr. Tushar Mahajan concluded the session with the vote of thanks and National Anthem.
The Fifth Day of One- Week PGDM Induction program of batch 2015-17 commenced with the presence of Shri Rakesh Chharia, Managing Trustee - IMS Ghaziabad ; Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director- IMS Ghaziabad and Senior alumni from the top global companies. Dr. Makkar during her address welcomed the Alumni to their second home. She described the importance of Alumni in enhancement of intellectual capital and brings laurels to the Institute.
The Occasion was graced by the presence of Senior Alumni - Mr. Manoj Mudgal, BPM, Bharti Airtel ; Mr. Himanshu Talwar, Founder & MD, Pliable Inc. ; Mr. Ameeth Sethi, Senior Manager, IndusInd Bank; Mr. Anurag Urmaliya, Recovery Head, Bharti Airtel; Mr. Prateek Agarwal, Area Manager, TVS Motors; Ms. Aanchal Badola, Reliance Communication ; Mr. Akash Singhal, ABP Group and Mr. Amol Agarwal, Amrapali Group. Alumni shared their valuable corporate experiences with the budding managers and motivated them to utilize each and every opportunity provided by the institute. Dr. Sanjay Jaerath and Dr. Yogita Sharma presented the vote of thanks to the Alumni.
Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director expressed her gratitude towards all Distinguished Guests, Dignified Academicians for their valuable contribution during Induction Programme. The intellectual one-week Programme ended with the hope and belief that fresh PGDM students will inculcate these learnings and teachings of corporate world and will contribute to themselves, Institute, Society and Nation.
